2024 was a year of many personal hardships in the family, all of which were in play even as this blog was first set up in August. That craziness finally all ended about the time 2024 did.
Now, things are just crazy in a bigger way, for us all. But that’s not what this blog is for, and while I’m not going to pretend it’s not true, I won’t go further than acknowledging that reality here, for now.
During these events, the blog has lingered in a semi-deployed state, but the nice thing about having no audience is that there’s also no pressure.
This post is primarily to say yes, this blog still happening, and no, I haven’t abandoned it. One of my next goals will be to figure out what I need to add email signups for updates. Then I can theoretically have an audience larger than just myself.
From a writing perspective, I used the traditional novel writing month of November to participate in #novelmber on bluesky, which was a fun experience that made the writing community at bluesky feel a little more intimate, with a bit more camaraderie and interaction with folks. I look forward to participating next year, also.
During that time, I began writing my second novel, a sequel to my first, which I’m currently querying. The querying process is itself blog post worthy, but at a minimum I’d like to get email signups enabled before I worry about posting with regularity.
So watch this space, where I promise, if nothing else, that there will eventually be more. 🙂
